On one of my computers I installed System Commander so I can dual boot. Of course I set the password and now I can't remember it.
Instead of paying V-Com for a Master Password reset I figured I'll pull the drives, copy the data over to another computer, then format and start clean. But the drives will not show up. Upon investigation, it seems System Commander has hidden the partitions.
(Well now it seems my version is outdated and no longer supported so I can't even buy a master password .... great tech support  ).
So I figure I can unhide the partitions with partition software. But the System Commander documention say data will be damaged and lost if System Commander is bypassed or removed.
My question is how can the data be damaged if the drive is set to slave and in a different computer. I would expect Sys Com to reside in the MBR and the first fat partition where I installed it. Is it safe just to unhide it?
