View Full Version : Extremely Odd Echoing in Recorded MP2

Hey all - I just recorded some video with my Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150. I have the RCA audio out from my TV going into an RCA->3.5mm cable into the cap card. The recorded MPG (7-9MB/s VBR MPEG-2, 384kb/s MPEG Layer-2 48KHz Stereo) plays, but the audio has an odd echoing effect. The oddest thing is, the echoing continues after I pause playback for a bit, slowly fading. (I have ffdshow's libmad decoding it, with no filters.) If I have it on loop, the beginning will echo with the sound of the end.

I used meGUI's D2V Creator to index and demux it. The demuxed audio does not play by itself. So, I opened the D2V in my AVS, in VDubMod. I then added the demuxed audio stream. Still it did not play the audio. I chose 10 seconds of video and encoded it to Xvid in MKV. The produced MKV still has the same audio problem. I recoded the audio to MP3, with still no luck, and the same echoing even after stopped playback.

Here's 10 seconds of the MP2 audio, let me know if you need anything else. And yeah, ti doesn't play for me either, but it does when I mux it into something or play it with VLC. Odd - perhaps connected?

Thanks!

Hi!

Perhaps you should try plugging the TV's audio out directly into your sound card?
