What processors make use of this feature? I have a P4 that runs two instances of HC. When I run on my other machine that is a core2duo, only one instance of HC runs. Is that the way it's supposed to work? Pardon my ignorance and thanks for the help.

If you have multiple instances enabled, DVD-RB will default to the number of processors that the OS has determined are available. You can see what that value is by typing "SET" (followed by ENTER) from the command line (START/RUN/CMD). You will see a system variable called NUMBER_OF_PROCESSORS.
Sometimes, when you replace a single-core motherboard with a dual-core motherboard for example, the OS may not necessarily pick up the extra processor. One way to tell whether it did is by running Task Manager and seeing if there are two processors shown under the "Performance" tab.
The only time the OS specified value is overridden is when you manually edit the hidden variable in REBUILDER.INI.

Just wanted to say thanks for the reply and I fixed my problem by reinstalling VISTA. I had a beta SP-1 installed. I believe that was the problem, "set" showed no variale listing # of processors. Thanks again.
