GKnot 2nd Pass error with LastJob.vcf

Hi guys,

Has anyone found a good fix for the "process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" error with LastJob.vcf?

I have seen a number of people ask about it but no solutions so far.

I am a long time (though not very technical) user of Gordian Knot which has worked well until I moved to DivX 6. Unfortunately I cannot go back to 5.

Here is the error:

10:55:54 PM: EXCEPTION: Cannot create file "C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\VirtualDubMod\LastJob.vcf". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
10:55:54 PM: EXCEPTION: Encoder Thread Terminated.

I have tried it out on several different XP computers without luck.

when you use GK, close all the others programs.
in your error message, it's written that your vcf is used by another application.
so be sure that you file isn't running with another program at the same time.
and what's your divx6 configuration ?
and last thing : do you work with GKMod ?

Thanks. I am running DivX 6.7 and no other application is running. It looks like the first pass is not releasing the lock on the file for some reason.

My solution was to give Auto GK a second chance. I tried it a while back and got frustrated. This time it works like a dream except for the low audio. There are some things I miss though.

I haven't tried GKMod yet..

be carreful to give the good params to AutoGK
if it doesn't works, try with GK/GKMod
