Hi.

I have 2 questions regarding number buttons on remote control and its associated handling within Encore DVD.

I have a menu with 14 chapters. Each button has a number, which can be used with the remote control to directly jump to this button.

1. question - Is it somehow possible to permit jumping to numbers 10-14? The remote control only has 10 number buttons (obvious, 0-9, 0 not triggering a chapter). Is a 2-digit numbering possible?

2. question - Can I tell Encore DVD to omit a number for a certain button inside a menu?

Was this clearly formulated or shall I rephrase?

Partial answers possible ;).

Many thanks,

No answer yet ... :(

Were the questions not clear (shall I rephrase), or does nobody know an answer?

(sorry, but before finishing a pending project, I need to know all this)

Thanks,

Okay I wasn't going to post as I don't know the answer to question 1. Maybe 2 digit numbering is possible if the remote control has that facility but I'm really not sure.

The answer to question 2 is definitely "no". If there are 14 buttons they must be numbered 1-14.

Question 1 is not an encore respectivly authoring issue. Check the manual of the player (remote).
Question 2. There is a possibility in DVD Video to restrict numerically button selection. E.g if you have seven buttons it is possible to restrict numerically button selection from e.g button_1 to button_4 only (always from 1 to x continuously). Not familiar with Encore so I do not know if it offers this feature.

Ok. Thanks for the answers!

The DVD player manual doesn't say anything about this. Actually I thought that all DVD players might only support 1-9. Possibly that the DVD standard only allows this?
