I'm wondering AVIs which have a frame-rate of 29.97 fps have drop-frame or not(ie is drop-frame supported). If so how can one tell? The reason I'm asking is I'm doing my first NTSC DVD project and the source files are AVIs, but my CCE chapter files aren't lining up.
Thanks.

Drop-frame vs. non-drop only refers to the way timecode is expressed. 29.97fps can be represented both ways but it is very uncommon to use non-drop. If your AVIs do have timecode (in another track besides the video and audio) then it will almost certainly be drop-frame.
For some AVI formats (e.g., DV) you can determine the type of timecode numbering from the file contents.
Can you provide more info about your AVIs?

They are indeed drop-frame, when I select DF in CCE the times now match up. The AVIs are uncompressed in the YUY2() colour-space @29.97 fps @ 720*480.
