AVI2DVD causing computer to shutdown

Iv been using AVI2DVD to convert avi's for sometime now with a great deal of success. However, about a week or so ago I found that after loading the avi into the programme it would get as far as video encoding then my whole computer crashes (actually turns off). Iv used vdub and vdub mp3 to check for errors and freezes and the avi seems to be perfect. I tried reinstalling programmes, downloading up to date codecs, using both TMPGEnc and then QEnc to convert but the same thing happens. Has anyone got any idea what is going on its driving me mad!! For information im using DVD2SVCD 1.2.3 Build 1.

Sounds like your system is overheating - due to accumulated dust bunnies, grease, or other detritus, in your system. Try opening it up and cleaning up.

If the problem persists, you may have some faulty RAM - in which case you'll want to run a RAM test program...

Agreed with Setarip.

Almost certainly a hardware issue and probably overheating CPU.
Check for dust in your CPU (and, if present, north bridge) fann undo any overclocking measures and try again.

If problems persist, try the Torture Test feature in Prime95 and run MemTest86 to check your RAM for errors. A search engine will easily find both these free programs.

Thanks for that guys, Ill try cleaning and see if that rectifies problem :)
