Great program, i've ripped a few movies and all is great...until now. I currently have one encoding now and it's scheduled for over 23 hrs and I have a 1 g processor. I noticed in the log, it's gone into the Ivtc mode. Can I safely disable this to speed up the process of my next rip? Off?..On?...Forgive my ignorance,...i've read up but don't understand what's it's doing. (Hoping I can still get a quality svcd, but just a wee bit faster..like maybe 14 hrs faster) Can someone help me with this please?

To get more help you need to supply more information.
Like:
What process are you using? gordianknot, nandub,Flask, ect...
What source are you using? If your in canada, it's probably a R1 DVD. Most R1 DVDs don't need IVTC, unless it's a TV series release. Read more about it here. (http://www.geocities.com/lukesvideo/telecining.html)
In short, you probably don't need to do it.

thank you for your response. Yes, i'm in canada. I have the ntsc operation (force film) set to automatic. Do you suggest setting this to "on"...or "off" ? And with the on or off selected, am I required to make any other changes?
I'm using dvd2svcd v1.0.5 build 4. Basically, i've followed the first time user instructions , put in the dvd and hit the go button, lol.
Analyzing DVD2AVI Project file
Hybrid Film activated. IVTC will beformed and will slow down the entire process!
Framerate: 29970
DVD2AVI processing done.
Could you please inform me if I should turn the ntsc operation on or off and if I need any other changes after that. It's not a tv show dvd.

I don't use dvd2svcd, so you should probably post your question in the dvd2svcd newbie forum.
