View Full Version : Can't make iTunes to Sync my iPod 5G with 640x480 encoded files by MeGUI or StaxRip

For the last several days I been trying to encode some material from a original DVD to my Ipod 5G 60GB with firmware 1.2.1, and all the encodes made at 320x240 (level 1.3) work just fine but when I try 640x480 (level 3) iTunes will reject the files when using MeGUI or Staxrip, even tried AutoMVK, RipBot and command line encoding with x264 and had the same result.
But files encoded at the same resolution with either Videora or Handbrake are not rejected by iTunes.

I'm using this profile settings from MeGUI, also for Staxrip:--bitrate 768 --level 3 --nf --no-cabac --subme 6 --analyse none --qpmin 16 --vbv-maxrate 1500
--me umh --merange 12 --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim --output "" ""

Don't know if there's a problem with the file created by MeGUI/Staxrip or the codec type used by Videora/HandBrake?
I even tried encoding the video stream only (no audio) and still didn't work.

Does the mp4box.exe have the -ipod parameter in the log?

No it does not, but I tried manually muxing with the -ipod option and still iTunes won't take it. It must be iTunes since Anapod Explorer transfered the same file and it plays fine on my iPod.
