I'm sorry for this "newbie" question. A search hasn't quite nailed it.
The question applies to both DV, and HDV (though not on the same tape!). An answer for either would be appreciated...
I have tapes that I've copied into my PC using WinDV and HDVsplit.
I want to print the files back to tape to make an "archive" copy.
The files are split into scene by time stamp. I want to print multiple files (scenes) back to tape in one go. I don't want to re-encode or lose time stamps.
Sometimes I want to print back a selection of scenes, originally taken from multiple tapes. Sometimes I just want to print back to tape all the footage which originally came from one tape as-was (removing any unrecorded gaps, where present) - effectively making a copy of the original tape, via the PC.
Some people report doing this from within the time line of a video editor. I don't have a suitable one - I'm looking for some free software just for printing to tape.
Other people use WinDV to print to tape, or some little program that I've forgotten the name of - but when I tried it, it was really buggy. AFAIK with these solutions, you can print one file. I want to print several back2back onto tape without gaps.
Any suggestions?
