Okay, I've been lurking here for awhile, and finally got around to posting some problems I'm finding:

"No ASPI Manager" when using SmartRipper, Vstrip, DVDdecrypter. DVDdecrypter won't work at all without it, and the other two just ignore it. What is this, what does it do, can I live without it, if not, where do I get it?

SmartRipper, and Vstrip both seem to limit my output files to 4095Mb. For lower quality rips, this seems to be fine on movies under 90min, but on larger stuff, Smartripper & Vstrip cut out partially thru the rip...Giving me an incomplete VOB file. Granted, the rip looks awesome, but it's just not the same if you don't have the last 15-30+ minutes of film there. This is my biggest priority.

System specs: I'm using XP Pro, with a 100Gb & 80Gb HD on IDE0 & Pioneer 106S on IDE1, 768Mb PC2100 AXP1800+.

HELP PLEASE!!

Filesize problem: In SmartRipper click Settings and middle bottom is max-filesize, change it to your needs. As for ASPI problem, go onto Doom9's software page and download ForceASPI. This will allow increased ripping speeds. You can live without it, but it's better with it installed.

I did the filesize thing...I've had it set at 30000Mb max. As stated previously, this is also a problem w/Vstrip...

Okay, so I d/l ForceASPI.....What do I do with it, since it's not an exe file, and no instructions?

To install forceaspi extract all files then double click INSTASPI.BAT this should do the trick.

Thanks.....sort of.. It turns out that this was a zipped file in ".rar", and I'd (nor my computer) never seen this extension before. Thought it was the product of some funky word processing program.

Anyhoo......Got it installed, and works well. Now if I can just get some answers on the 4095Mb limitation, I'll be golden!

Anybody? Anybody?

the max filesize for fat32 is 4GB. maybe you are using fat32 ??
but i dont see your problem. use a max filesize below 4gb or use "every vob file". you will get the whole dvd in a few vob files, no need for only one vob file.

FYI NTFS partitions do not have the 4gb limitations for avis like on FAT32.

Okay...The NTFS conversion went pretty simply. This has cured the filesize problem! YAAAAAAAY!!! Rips can be as big as the whole outdoors now...

...And then come the coding problems!

Ever since doing the NTFS conversion, I can't get Flask or XMPEG to encode without crashing....WTF??? Tried uninstalling, and reinstalling both, to no avail. I get all the way thru the settings, and hit "run", then get the XP version of BSOD: "Your program needs to exit" box. Suspecting it may be a Divx 4.12 problem, but would like some input.

Yes it is an problem with DivX 4.12 IF you have a AMD processor (not sure whether it affects all their cpus). There was a thread on it somewhere on this forum, use the search to find it.
