View Full Version : MPLAYER problems with Intel Macs

Since I got a PowerBookPro Intel Mac I constantly receive error messages while trying to subtitle my files using FFMPEGX or MOVIE GATE as a GUI front end for the UNIX libraries.

The messages are random, however MPLAYER always crashes claiming he cannot find the fonts. It gives an error n11 and several other errors

Does anyone have the same problem? I tried using this software in other Intel Machines but they seem to work as badly.

As the subtitles I need to put are often in Traditional Chinese I thought this might have been a bad 2bytes Carachters problem, but actually I receive the same error message when I try to use Latin or Western words. In these case however FFMPEGX does create AVI files burning the latin subtitles: I still get the error message, but I need to quit the sofware and restart the machine. If my subtitles are in Chinese FFMPEGX gives me nothing. Major (the developer) told me this is a known bug in the latest MPLAYER for the Intel Mac. But it seems there are no fixes for this.

Movie Gate instead never creates subtitles no matter in which language.

All this (again) only with Intel Macs, while with PowerPC machines everything works smoothly.

Any ideas?
