Hi,

I just bought this DVD burner Sony DRU-830A and I couldn't change the Book Type setting on the Decrypter 3.5.4.0 to DVD-ROM for this drive. I used to own the Sony DRU-810A and used the BenQ option to change the Book Type setting. This new drive is said to be same or similar to Samsung drives.

Now in the Book Type setting options of DVD Decrypter there's only Nu Tech, Plextor, Ricoh, BenQ, LG, Lite-On, NEC brands and there is no Samsung (or Sony) in it. So which one should I use to change the Book Type ?

You can't.

The Samsung option is only available in ImgBurn.

Mr. Lightning UK!,

First of all I would like to Thank You from the bottom of my heart for the DVDDecrypter that you made for all of us. It's a "Jewel" among all softwares.

Is this ImgBurn as good as our good old DVDDecrypter in terms of 1:1 backups ? Because I use DVDDecrypter SOLELY to make 1:1 backups of my Original R1 DVD Collection which I have about 1'500 of them and to safe guards against DVD-ROT and other deterioration I back them up as they are (without compression).

Please kindly inform me about this ImgBurn software as I might need to change my DVDDecrypter with a VERY VERY HEAVY HEART.

Thank You.

ImgBurn does not do any decrypting. For burning ImgBurn is the way to go.

OH Ok... So as I understand that we still have to use DVDDecrypter for creating the image files and then burn it with imgburn.. Right ?

Lots of programs make ISO images. But for ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com) you can burn directly from files/folders and do not need an ISO first. Download it and read the guides at ImgBurn Forum (http://forum.imgburn.com/).
