Cant import xvid avi to Sony Vegas 8 !

I am trying to import xvid avi into Sony vegas 8 , but i am not able to do so . I read on the web about this , lots of people have this problem . I have the codecs installed as checked with G-Spot . Any solutions ?

After purchasing a $500-$600 (or $300 as a student) software package, I'd hope that

1) The documentation would provide an answer, or

2) Online tech support would solve your problem...

I'm don't check Sony Vegas 8, but...

Sony Vegas 7 can't handle FourCC DX50 and XVID, also can't use Xvid codec.

Change FourCC to DIVX and use DivX VfW or ffdshow VfW.
