will not burn

When I have gone through all the steps with shrink up till burn operation I get the following message
sorry this compilation cannot be written on this kind of disc.Please insert a disc of the correct type or modify the settings of your compilation to make them compatable with the current disc
I have tried three different types of disc
I use latest version of Nero can you please help thank you

Are you using a Cd or a DVD. Please check. If a DVD, does your burner recognise the format (-R vs +R - all modern burners will be multi-format).

Does the compliation fit in terms of size? Maybe it needs a dual layer. How many Mb is it?

thank you for your reply .I was making this reqest for a friend and have just found out his problem was that he needed a dual layer dvd.
