View Full Version : Processing large batch jobs?

Hi All,

I'm in the habbit of ripping to ISO, so I need to use tools like Daemon Tools to mount the ISO so that I can process it with DVD Rebuilder. Is there anyway to use something like DaemonScript with DVD-RB so that you automate the mounting/dismounting of ISO files? If I could do this then I could process more than 4 movies in a batch job. Would support for DaemonScript ever be supported from within DVD-RB itself?

I'll look at it. I use ISOs with Daemon Tools as well, but I've never personally used DaemonScript.

For batch jobs, I set Daemon Tools to emulate as many drives as I have ISOs, then mount each image to a separate drive. In RB, set up each project to point to the appropriate virtual drive for its source. Of course with the free version of DTools, one is limited to four virtual drives. I believe that the registered version supports 10. Not a problem for me; I rarely set up more than two or at most three encodes. Perhaps an issue for others, though.

Thanks Jdobbs. I've never really used Daemonscript either, but I know it is used to automate just about everything in Daemon Tools.

@JohnGalt
I generally do that too, but unless I'm missing something Daemon Tools can emulate a maximum of 4 drives at a time, meaning the most movies you can process in one batch job is 4. If you could script the mounting and dismounting of drives as a part of a DVD-RB batch job then this limit of 4 wouldn't apply. You're only real limit then is disk space.
