I'm committed to get AutoGK working on Vista (although not that it doesn't at the moment as I tested it myself under x64 Vista ultimate).
I'll start with what I know:
- as only DivX Pro (i.e. registered) is supported (just tried with no problems 6.7) and Vista x64 by default won't let you register it (DLL problems) here is a good start to overcome that: http://forums.divx.com/forum/viewTopic.php?id=1953
- preview doesn't work on any version of Vista
- there are some problems reporting with "error pasing ifo file", but I would need more info about that

1. That's great! I'm using x64 Vista Ultimate and I'm experiencing a couple undesireable things (using motherboard (uli) and adaptec raid based drives), essentially the size of the files outputted is arbitrary. I guess virtualdub refuses to optimize the file for the target size? I have an identical rig (seriously, identical) that runs XP Pro, and it of course works without issue.
I've installed x64 Components 1.3 in order to get divx codecs on the machine. Otherwise my config is: 4gb RAM, AMX X2 4200+, 600GB RAID 0, 2TB RAID 5 w/Vista x64 Ultimate (with latest MS updates). I guess that's relevant.
So I guess the first issue is what am I doing wrong that has your install working seamlessly on your Vista x64 install? Were there any subtle tweaks you performed?
2. What is the change that x64 codecs that you approve as well as x64 optimize virtualdub (and anything else you can get your hands on for that matter) can be bundled up?
I'd be elated to make a donation towards that end to make it a priority amongst everything else you're doing for the community. I know that sounds selfish, but in the end it's giving you some fuel to help out (according to the polls) the small vista and even smaller x64 crowd! :)
I'm new to the forum so I apolize if this post the wrong place, please feel free to move it! :)

I do not have any video codecs installed on my PC apart from vanilla DivX 6.7 Pro and XviD that is bundled with AutoGK. You can't have any other version of XviD installed as described in the FAQ!

Ok, I'll give it another shot, but what about some x64 options for future releases? Any reasons why you wouldn't want to do some extra compiles for us?

I don't do any of the compiles of the tools I'm using. AutoGK GUI itself will not benefit from x64...
