macrovision

i have a tv/vcr combo that i have hooked up to a vcr/dvd combo. many rented dvd's will not play properly 'cause of the macrovision protection (i think that's what's causing it...where the picture fades dark and light) but all my ripped dvd's play fine 'cause it's been removed. is there a way to hook this up so i the tv and dvd player won't interact in that way and cause problems?

It might be possible to hook it up somehow, impossible to say without more details on the TV. If not, you'll have to use another TV or look for hardware macrovision removal, like these boxes (http://www.multi-region.co.uk/dvd_macrovision.php). (But those are SCART, you probably want coax, composite, or s-video. That was just the first result.)
