Ok im captuing Bob The Builder off a vhs...i got it on my drive and its about 3.6gigs big. The movie is only 45mins long. Im trying to encode to divx4 with gnot. At the bottome gnot where it has the bypass filed...right over from the .d2v. (the Bits/(Pixel*Frame) field)I cant select a bitrate. It just stays a yellow field (the field abot the Load tab not the % fields)and i cant change anything at all. Why not?.Im tying to encode this to the best possible quality that can fit on 1 700mb cd. I choose the option where you can fit to cd. But the file came up about 225mbs short of 700...plus the qualtiy wasnt what i want. So i got 225mbs to make it look better. Im trying to do so but being i have never done divx4 at all...im lost. In the guider here at doom9 it shows that i would want to change the bitrate to a certain percent and if i do the compressablity check one of the fields that just stay empty should read between 45% and 55%.

Im going crazy withit. Also the mux is alright in the begging of the file but half way through the audio is WAY behind.

Update ok i just did the compressibility as i was typing this and the field that is suppose to be 45%-55% says 3.2% of 0.878 in a red field. How do i bring this to a good range??

Ok another update. i just noticed that the audio is 45mins and 31secs long...but the video is only 44mins 58 secs. How did that happen. It must of happened in dvd2avi. i ran the .mp2 i captured in to dvd2avi so i can use it. Could i encoded directly to divx4 from the .mp2 file to help avoide this audio issue?

Ok ive run into a VERY Large problem now. My orginal 3.57gig mp2 stream i captured in has no synch problems...but from there i get the same one when trying to go to divx.

Ive tried going directly from there to divx in flaskmpeg in divx3...result lost synch at around the 30min mark. Ive tried using gnot with divx4. i used a .d2v dile and got the same exact synch issue. Ive tried both ways several times with the same exact synch problem.
Ok ive tried both ways to synch audio that are listed on this page....no luck same results. Ive tried another from digital-digest...again no luck. Now the orginal 3.57gig .mp2 file is perfect, but anywhere else from there on down becomes all messed up. Is there some sort of displacement when trying to encode a captured .mp2 stream to divx????
