hi

i have a problem wich really confuses me...
i wanna rebuild a dvd9 to dvd5 with dvd rebuilder 1.26 pro and cce 2.7
VTS_01 segment 0 and VTS_01 segment 1 encoded as ussual all the 6 passes which i ve set, but when it comes to VTS_02 segment 0 and starts no progress is visible in cce window, but its taken 100% cpu.
the settings i used worked pretty good before on other dvds.
could that be maybe a bad dvd master or something?

Possibly a bad rip. The other possibility is the version of DGDECODE you are using. There was a very rare problem related to a certain kind of stream that was fixed a long time ago... but if you're using an older version it may be there. I've also heard of an instance where AVISYNTH caused a similar problem.

In DVD-RB, click on "HELP/Display Versions" and post it so I can see what's up.

dvd decrypter v 3.5.4.0

maybe i should try smartripper or somethingboth rippers can't cope with newer copy protections by itself.
what movie is it you're trying to do?

here's a free alternative - DVDFab HD Decrypter:
http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

or there's AnyDVD:

@peter_griffin

Hi!

This 2001 DVD release doesn't contain any special/newer copy protection.

Considering its age, I'd ask if you purchased it in new or used condition?

If new, I'd suggest you return it to the place of purchase and exchange it for a new replacement...

well, it plays well on another coputer, didnt tested in hardwareplayer yet.
if i rip it with the drive from the other computer it also fails encoding on VTS_02 sements 0.
i think i ll return it for anotherone and hope that it works, but the dvd itself looks ok to me, so i think that it will be damaged maybe on all discs

:thanks: all for replies

hello again :)

i got a replacement now and still the same error, so i think the dvd is edited bad.
i tried on 2 computers and it always gets awfuly slow when it comes to the VTS_02 is encodes with like 10 frames at once and some hundred, so the eta goes up ~178 h (which i dont wanna wait) - usually it is ~3 h on the other segments.
my question is now, is it possible to reedit the orginal ifo files or something? maybe is the error there?

1) Sounds like whatever ripping program you're now using is able to overcome the problem, albeit slowly. Let it run overnight and you may find that the ripping eventually speeds up

2) You still haven't stated - Are these NEW or USED DVDs?

i tried it over night several times on both computers, result was VTS_02 encoding was running awfully slow when i woke up.

and the dvd itself is new, and my replacement is also new.

i ripped it with dvd decrypter which basically worked all time before.
