I'm gonna be crazy with this problem: When I try to mix my ac3 file (extracted with DVD2AVI) with my video/avi file (made whith Gordian/Nandub), I got a desync. My ac3 file is a couple of seconds shorter than my video file ! But the source is the same (a 500 Mo vob file )!!!
I know that with a lot of work, I could strech the audio, but I don't understand why the audio is shorter than the video, while they come from the same vob file !!!
Thanx for your help (and forgive my bad english)

You didn't mention if you were using your audio interleave while muxing.

Doom9 > I'm sincerely sorry about the wrong title of my topic. I've read a while ago, and i didn't remenber the title rule when I wrote it ... Sorry

MaTTeR > I tried all the sttings (inclding the audio interleave while muxing) I've found on many serious guides (including the doom9 's one) and I got the same shorter audio file bug. I tried to rip it with flask, and it failed (said that my settings were incorrect) : maybe the vob file is corrupted ?

totoro,
If your using Flash to encode your video then that's most likely your problem. Flask always gave me sync problems way back when I used it. I think it stretched the video thus causing your sync problems. I suggest you take a look at using Gknot if you want perfect rips:)

Dont let the interface scare you, it's not that bad. Just read the nice guide on Doom9's site and give it a shot.

MaTTeR > As I said in my 1st post, I tried all the ways to encode my video : Gordian / Nandub -> Divx3/SBC ; Grodian / VDub -> Divx4 ; Flask -> Divx 4.
I tried also to simply extract the audio file from the vob : I extracted it with DVD2AVI, and a demux software. I get both ac3 and wav files.
And in all the cases, the audio file is shorter than the video file.
I would say finaly that I'm NOT a newbie ripper, I made several movies with all the existong methods.
In fact, I don't understand why I can't properly extract an audio file that match whith the video...

what is the delay value that smart ripper gives you?

I guess the last thing I would try is stream processing with SR 2.41 and memux the audio stream to an extra file. If that doesn't work, try use the movie mode in SR. I didn't mean to treat you as a newbie, you only had 6 posts though so I assumed you were new;)

I finaly found out a compromise !
I ripped the vob shit with that old good Flask !
Don't laugh at it ! It is the only way I found after dozens of tries wtih all the newest methods ! And the result is pretty good (I admit that's the video of the animated menu I'm going to make for my MicroDVD movie, so the 1-pass low-motion divx3.11 quality is good enough :p)
Thanks for your help guys :)

@Doom9 : sorry again if I bored you with my topic. Your job in our pretty world is so good for us. Keep on going man, you're really the best ;) (and you should activate the research feature of your vbb forum, it could prevent from always posting the same boring question ;) )
