Question about Dual Audio Channels.

Is it possible to make an AVI (or other type of container) witch contains multi audio channels that work together?

Eg - I would like to make a avi with 2 audio channels... that play at THE SAME TIME.. like stero... a user can then simple choose to turn off one of the channels and only get some of the sound.

(I'm backing up all my Football dvds.. the sound on the DvDs are all layered.. you can have all the sound on or just teh crowd, or the crowd and the commentary but all the refs turned off. etc etc)

I would like to simulate this in my backups but if i make 3-5 copies of the entire audio track the video starts to suffer as i need to compress to much to get a decent file size...

Having them play at the same time is easy - switching them is a different matter. You'll probably have to mix the layers into a third audio track and have three different selectable audios.

yes that is what I thought... but kinda do not want to have 1/2 the file size taken up in audio......

I have seen avi files as u say... XVid encoded ones. two audio tracks... defaultly both of them will play... But u can mute one by selecting single audio track... I do not know how to get more information from the file... Is there any programs where can I view the full details? perhaps the detailes might be useful for you :)
