View Full Version : Weird problem: 4:3 menu of 16:9 original

I've come across this with Life of Mammals. The menu is recognised as a 4:3 one, although the original menu stretches the menu video to 16:9.

Has anyone seen the same thing and knows how to handle this?

TIA.

Everything seems to be alright if I don't use menu encoding. There has to be a bug ...

Check your domain stream attributes of the DVDFILES menu versus the original.

16:9 is set, but it is displayed as a 4:3 with wide black borders on both sides of the video.

What are you using to play it back? If it says 16:9 -- it is very definitely set to play back 16:9.

I'm using the current version of VLC. The weird thing is it displays a 16:9 screen but the menu is sort of squeezed horizontally as if to match a 4:3 frame, i.e. I'm having black bars on the left and on the right. This must be a decoding a/o an encoding matter ...
