Editing a motion menu?

Hi i have a question.

As the topic states, i want to edit a motion menu.
It's a japanese dvd and i want to edit the japanese signs/text to english.

Hi bokkoman!

I have done it several times.

First make a snapshot of the concerning menu frame.
Add your english text as an overlay (second layer) with a graphic tool.
Save the overlay layer.
Load the demuxed background video in a NLE (e.g. Adobe Premiere).
Overlay the japanese text with your new english text.
Save the combined background video / overlay.
Mux it back as described in the guide above.
Its a little bit more effort, if you need to change text highlights too.
