Why not just make a slide show dvd and add music

nero vision express or even moviemaker2 that's in xp sp2?

you can burn a data dvd or moviemaker slideshow dvd with imgburn

that's a lot of pictures

If you have Windows OS, you really should try ProShow at http://www.photodex.com/

PhotoDVD (http://www.vso-software.fr/products/photodvd/photodvd.php) is an option too to create a slidehow on DVD.

Pretty straight forward, add photos, comments if desired, and music. Works on Windows XP and Vista
