SBC<->2_pass

Divx4.12_2pass compare with Divx3.11_SBC
DVD source film is very sharp & inclubed very fast, low & still motion.
I used VTS_01_1.VOB to encode 1/4 movie; then cut some samples to upload.
All in 1100kbps, it would fit 2 x 700mb CD.

why didn't you crop your movie properly?
also why did you convert divx3 to RGB?
divx412_01 is shorter than divx311_SBC_01 by 2sec so you can't really judge those 2 by filesize.
same thing w/ divx311_SBC_03 and divx412_03
...unless i'm totally mistaken on what you are trying to say here

1. corp or no; same in this case. Two samples are in same size. The point is same condition.

2. Divx3.11 produced by Nandub in Full Processing Mode. It must changed the color depth to RGB, i hadn't choose.

3. SBC auto created a flexable keyframe range(6-10) & 4.xx_2pass is fixed. My cutting point was at keyframe, so they had a difference range. But the full 36:58 min. size was same.

I found the difference. 4.xx_2pass is better handle during low <-> high motion in a very short period. Not only 3.11 show a lot of mosaic in this case & WINDVD3.1 & PowerDVD4.0 also failed.

SBC & 2_pass is design to solve this problem, but my bitrate is too low.

The best solution is increase bitrate:
SBC or 2_pass -> 2000+ kbps
CBR -> 4000+ kbps

All I know is what ever you have on those sample links were definately cropped wrong. You need the resolution to be divisable by 4 or else the out put looks just like yours. Make sure the resolution is in interger of four or you will end up with the same results a 6,000kbs.
