If i double click an empty floppy drive (no disk in the drive), i get an message: The disk in Drive A is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?
Is this normal?
Not an critical problem though...

One of my systems generates a message to, "Please place a disk in Drive A:"
You might want to try pressing the drive's "Eject" button

Doesn't help/nothing happens.

Have you actually used the drive in the last year or so? Maybe it's time to get everything off the disks before they die, and remove the drive? (If you have copy-protected software that needs the disks, you can make floppy disk images with a program called vfd.)

@Digiface
And what happens if you DO place a floppy disk in the drive?
Is it acknowledged? If it's not a blank disk, can the drive read it?

Dude, it's time to disable it in the BIOS. ;)
