I’ve been using DVD Shrink 3.2 for a year or so, but I still feel like a newbie. I also had Decrypter and RipIt4Me installed and working. Then I bought a new computer with Vista. I reinstalled Shrink and Decrypter and can’t get them to work. I also reinstalled Nero 6, but Vista isn’t exactly happy with that version. When I copy a DVD using Shrink I can’t burn because Nero won’t come up in the Backup DVD window, so I create an ISO Image in a hard drive folder, I think. Then I’m stuck.

First of all I have no idea what an ISO file is. When I go into my hard drive file I see Audio TS and Video TS but I can’t get beyond that point. And when I try to burn using Decrypter I get error messages that it can’t find whatever it’s looking for. I get lost if I go beyond plug and play.

The new computer came with Roxio but apparently it doesn’t work with Shrink.

What’s my next step?

If you see an Audio_TS and Video_TS folder, you didn't create an .ISO file. An .ISO file will contain all the files in a single image as "Moviexx.ISO". You can burn that with Roxio, or you can use ImageBurn to burn the files within a folder that you have already created.

Thanks CWR03. But where am I going wrong on creating an .ISO file? Could you lead me through the process?

You set that when you go to start the shrinking and it asks you to select a backup target. The middle two options are ISO files. The first and last will be just a folder with the files. Roxio should be able to burn either of them to a disc, a DVD is really just a data disc with a VIDEO_TS folder, so as long as you drag that into the new compilation it should burn correctly.

I've been able to burn a DVD using both Decrypter and Roxio -- thanks. New problem:
Now I've downloaded RipIt4Me and when I try to use the program Decrypter stops the process with this error message "Failed to set data for 'DVD Decrypter Play DVD Movie On Arrival"' What's it looking for?
