AVI to DVD using DVD2SVCD gives me error File Unrecognizable.

Trying to convert avi to DVD.
Recently formatted and reinstalled the OS (winxp) so Im having problems that I didnt have before. Perhaps Im missing something?

This is the error I get when I try to convert the avi to dvd.
The mplex states file unrecognizable - but why? What could be causing it, or what should I be looking for?

Can you open the mpv file with VirtualDubMod?

1) What software and procedures did you use to create the original problematic .AVI?

2) Load the problematic .AVI into GSpot and post a screencapture back here...

From that logfile, the video file has been detected as an MPEG stream. The audio file has not been recognised.

Have a look at your BeSweet log and see if there is any clue there.

If I were hazarding a guess at the problem, I'd say you probably have "Do Not Convert Audio" checked in the audio tab. This feature only works if your AVI file has AC3 (or other DVD-compatible) audio. If it has MP3 audio, you will have to uncheck this option in DVD2SVCD.

If this is not the case, try the suggestions above.
