Edit: I've fixed my problem, no more worries! Simply used an Avisynth filter before the video is encoded and the output looks impeccable.
I have a little issue with my 300 DVD rip I've made.. It's an unaltered copy (I didn't transcode it) of the video and audio. When played in Media Player Classic (through use of an avisynth script I use to pipe the file to x264) the image -seems- to be reproduced perfectly. On the other hand, with VLC media player I get this ugly blocking and the colors seem way off. Any help would be much appreciated as it seems like if I just fix that problem I can fix a lot of the blocking issues I get with x264 encoding. And on that matter, I'd prefer to stay with VLC Media Player rather then use MPC.
