Hello, the attached picture shows a variety of Layer Break cells selection on an episodic Project. This is a first one for ImgBurn showing excellent candidates. But, there’re two questions:
1) Does it matter if the layer break isn’t on a cell containing the movie title?
2) What can be recommended, since on the former 2nd DVD at some Menus, IFOs, and the start of the movie (2dn one), they’re all excellent.
I do want express appreciation what made possible such project, to the following authors\contributors\staff:
Lightning UK for: DVD-D & ImgBurn, the first & last tools of the process.
Marcin Tymieniecki: Art-work for the title menu.
Jesus Soto: PgcDemux-needs, VobBlanker replacing & shortening cells, which worked without any issues at all & Delay Cut.
Edward: Audio hardware.
Martn Dienert: Mpeg2Schnitt.
MPUCoder: Muxing needs.
r0LZ: getting dirty with PgcEdit and tweaking the whole project.
Womble: Mpeg Video Wizard DVD fixing the GOP timecode.
The related communities especially here & VideoHelp (nice make-over).
Thanks.

1) Certainly not! It's the best situation!
2) As long as you can set the LB at the beginning of a file, it's excellent. However, I would prefer to put the LB on the start of the VOBs. This way, your IFO is still on L0, and the BUP on L1. It might be easier to read L0 on some drives.
Also, it is always better to select a position that roughly divide the DVD in two equal parts, as there will be less data near the outer edge of the DVD, subject to damages. From that point of view, the best position is usually the first one with a number of padding sectors less than 16, or the previous cell if the padding is relatively small.

Hi r0lZ, thanks for the input. Also read this threads 1 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=988706)&2 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=95250) since break was misspelled as brake.

Oh, yes, I remember those threads, especially the second one. It was the beginning of everything! :) You have much to read! (But don't worry. That thread is very technical, but you don't have to understand everything to burn a DVD! ;))
And thanks for the first link also. I should bookmark that post, as I don't want to repeat that explanation every time! I suppose you understand now why it is better to split the DVD in two approximately equal parts.

Yes, a safety measure, similar when saving the IFO & BUP files leaving at least 32k space in between. This time we have excellent candidates, but because of too much padding will need to cell-split (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=93728&highlight=split+cell+vobblanker) with VobBlanker. There’s also a point which it fades to black, not possible again due to the same issue. Still, is relative easy to adjust. :)
Thanks

Often, an easy way to find another cell is to swap some titlesets (with PgcEdit's Remap Titlesets.) That might be sufficient. Of course, that doesn't work if you have one VTS only.

r0lZ's wisdom, yes another path. BTW, a sweet-spot of only 6 padded sectors on a scene changing the camera angle was chosen; ImgBurn considers the cell as average, assuming because is around the chapter's middle. The Layer-Break is pretty much seamless (video isn't an issue & a tiny audio gap is acceptable), though for DVD-Player compatibility the cell is flagged as non-seamless.

ImgBurn can't analyse the video and audio. It only tries to guess the best spot by analyzing the DVD structure, as does PgcEdit.
This forum focuses usually on technical points, but of course, the final decision is up to you. The best position might be the worst one from a technical point of view.

No worries r0lZ, at the time of the last post, the project was already finished & played. Probably because of the lack of words it may confuse, but we were sharing how good it came to be the average cell, the video was no problem at all, and the tiny audio gap is acceptable.
