Having some issues with this player. I've authored discs [DVD-3x] using Cinevision/Scenarist 4.11 ACA. They seem to play great in an XBOX360 addon, but I get a "This disc is not DVD format" error on the A20.

Anyone have any success with this player?

Update: Authoring in Scenarist SCA worked in the A20.. Audio is really off, though.

Still open to thoughts/suggestions.

I used the same video/audio files in both authoring programs.

It is because the second generation players see 3x DVD as DVD, not HD-DVD, by default. To make it work, create a dumby SD-DVD project and add the HD-DVD information to it as ROM. Also, make sure that your A20 is set for HD-DVD under the Twin-Disc option.

Thanks for the reply..

Couple things:

I updated the A20, I no longer see the Twin Disc setting.

Also, I am not quite sure what you mean by creating a dumby SD project and adding HD files as ROM.

Still using Scenarist SCA, or will this work with ACA? I interpret that as adding the files that ACA creates under the SD-DVD file structure (VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS).

It IS working fine with scenarist SCA, but I would like the ability of creating discs in ACA.

After reading the A2 thread, I figured out the problem.

I set the booktype to DVD+R and it work prefectly.

So yes, Gen2 players can play advanced content DVD3x.
