I just converted an MPEG to an AVI so I could edit it in Adobe Premiere.
The original dimensions were 16:9 but in the conversion process they became 4:3.
What can I do to restore the original dimensions?

You probably need to convert again. What did you use to convert the mpeg to avi?

I'm using a program called Movavi Video Converter.
I don't know any converters that can maintain the ratio.

Hi,
I'm not familiar with Movavi Video Converter, but you could try VirtualDubMod (http://www.doom9.org/software2.htm) or SUPER (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/SUPER_1). Both can convert MPEG to AVI and have many options for aspect ratio.
If you don't want to convert again, you could also try right-clicking the clip in premiere's timeline->Advanced Options->Pixel Aspect Ratio->D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2).
