Error message: "Warning in VMG_TT_SRPT table"

I used Rebuilder to compress and apply a filter (Dust) to a DVD backup, then when I opened PgcEdit to burn the compilation to DVD-R, I received this message below. The DVD checked out fine just before I used Rebuilder on it, so I don't know what happened. It appears to play fine with Media Player Classic.

Is this error serious? I really don't know IFOEditor enough to make the correction the message indicates.

The Titles 1 and 6 are assigned to the same PGC (VTS 1, PGC 1.)
This strange authoring might be illegal, but it's not sure.

Since Title 6 is not the last one on the table, PgcEdit cannot remove it.

If you want, you should remove it with IfoEdit.
You will have to verify that is is not called with Info -> Find Jumps to Nowhere.
If there are jumps to Title 6, replace them with jumps to Title 1."


The error message is reproduced exactly as it appears on screen.

Well, it means that two title numbers are assigned at the same PGC. You should verify if the original DVD exhibits the same problem. If it's not the case, then Rebuilder did something wrong and I suppose that the new DVD is probably wrong. But if the original DVD has the same problem, you should not worry too much.

Anyway, search for "Title 6" (w/o the quotes) with the search box at the bottom left corner of the main PgcEdit window, and click the "All" button. If Title 6 is never referenced, the problem is probably not important.

The source does not display the error. I searched as you mentioned in the bottom center window and PgcEdit came back with "Found 'Title 6' 0 times in DVD."

I did make one other change before using RB. The original jumps to Title 6 in First Play. I edited the entry and changed the command to JumpSS-VTSM. Doing that didn't flag the error, though, because I reloaded the source into PgcEdit after changing the entry and it was fine. So RB did something to cause the error. Does jdobbs know about the error?

BTW, the source is my Robocop DVD.

I have never encountered this strange situation in any commercial DVD, as it doesn't make sense to assign two titles to the same PGC, and this is why I consider it as an error. However, according to FallenAngel (author of TitleWriter) it's probably legal.
Anyway, as the source DVD doesn't have the same problem, it's certainly a problem with a tool you have used. It might be caused by a bug in PgcEdit as well, although I haven't encountered it yet.
You could ask jdobbs if he knows that problem...

BTW, the source is my Robocop DVD.Did you try running the original through DVD-RB without the edit to see if it has an effect? That may make it easier to find where the problem might be.

By removing the title jump in First Play, you may have created an unreferenced PGC in the VOB, which gives the appearance of one of those 1000 goofy copy inhibitor mechanisms you see floating around. I'd have to look at the code and see how DVD-RB responds might respond to it (it's been a while).
