Hello. I am very new to digital buisness, so any advices will help. Thanks in advance. I am using Canon DVD Camcorder DC220.
It works on 8cm DVD's. To put it on PC it is finalized into DVD format, with VOBs, IFOs and BUPs. I can watch it, but I cannot edit it. For that purpose, I use MPEG Streamclip 1.1 (http://www.squared5.com). It converts it to mpeg. Then, I use 4U AVI MPEG Converter to convert mpeg. to wmv. I use trial version which converts only 60 %. Problem is that when I import wmv. into WMM, the sound at some clips is 4 seconds in front of the picture and I think that picture quality is lost a bit at some point in all that converting.
My question is- what programs for converting and editing do you recomend for the picture to be in the best shape and the sound to be exact with the picture, or do you have any advice for me?
I am sorry if I broke some rules or something like that.
Thanks for all your posts, I appreciate any kind of help very much.:thanks:

What is your desired destination format and what kind of editing do you want to do?

You can use DGMPGDec to serve the DVD audio and video into the editor of your choice via Avisynth. You can control the AV sync via your Avisynth script.

Hi!

You seem to be performing an unnecessary step by using "MPEG StreamClip 1.1". Since your DVDs are homebrewn, the .VOBs (which are an extended MPEG-2 format) undoubtedly contain only 1 videostream and one audiostream. Click on the following link to learn how to convert them into one MPEG-2 file in a minute or so:
