AVI-Plugin error

I go through all the steps to convert a vob file to avi but when I tell it to start conversion, an error comes up saying AVIFileOpen doesn't worked ! can somebody please help me with this?

There is some bugs with XMpeg and Mp3 codec. (read other old threads).
When you start the conversion, XMpeg say he can't write the file.

There is a lot of solutions, but it change with your system.

Me, I use XMpeg to compress the video stream with PCM (uncompressed) sound. When it's finished, I use VirtuaDub with direct stream copy for the video, and Mp3 compression for audio. (refer to the thread named "Question for the Xmpeg Gurus", and the answer of Freezer)

I think it's a good solution, because it doesn't take a long time to compress the audio stream, and you can use Xmpeg which is a good software (with big bug )
