How to store ripped BD/HD?

I'm in the middle of ripping my DVD library to a big array. I've only got a few HDDVD's and BD's, but I'd love to be able to rip them too, even if playback isn't quite ready yet.

For DVD's, I'm ripping to ISO/MDS with DVD Decrypter, figuring that XBMC and other playback devices can play straight from the ISO, and with those two files I can burn a new DVD that's identical to the original if I manage to lose/damage the original.

Before I dive into buying HD/BD drives for ripping, can someone kindly tell me if I'll be able to accomplish the same thing -- rip to ISO (or other image format) such that I can 1) playback complete with menus and such and 2) burn a duplicate of the original at some point in the future. I'm fine if either one isn't quite software-ready yet, as long as it's technically feasible and sounds reasonably likely to happen.

1- yes, no problems whatsover. The only trick is you need to use UDF-only option for those .ISOs. Imgburn is my program of choice. You can rip HD DVD to the folder on your HDD and then use subfolders to make an .ISO. Then mount ISO with Daemon Tools and that's it.

2 - don't know. I've heard about some issues when burning to the BD-R disks. Don't have one, can't tell. Blank BDs are around $18. There are basically no HD DVD burners in existence at the moment.
