How to split/trim/cut m2t files from HDV cam

I have no problem with converting and processing .m2t videos from my HDV camcorder. However, for archival purposes I need a tool that would be able to trim or cut those m2t files with any conversion going on. Is there such a tool?

HDVSplit (http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/) is the only way I know of, and that is not controllable. Can't a m2t file be cut fairly poorly and still work after the next GOP? What if there is a cutter that only operates via GOP. So lets say a 2 min clip has 240 GOP's, that gives you 240 cut points. So it indexes the GOP's, you select a range, and it's outputted. Unless I'm mistaken, DGIndex can't output m2t files?

NLEs that smart render go part of the way there. E.g. in Edius Neo you keep the time stamps, but lose the exposure data. The video itself is a bit perfect copy.

Looks like it's accurate only to seconds, but nonetheless this is what I'm looking for!
