i have memorex dvd+r.

i've burned the 2.5g(compressed) .dmg file to a dvd as a file using nero in windows xp. i put the dvd in the powerbook g4, and it spits it right back out.

i've burned the .dmg to disc as an image, uncompressed(3.5g), and same problem. the mac just spits it right back out.

windows will read the discs, and i see the .dmg file on there. transmac also recognizes the .dmg and will let me view the contents of the .dmg in windows.

i've heard macs have problems reading dvd+r's, and i should use -r. is this true?

i know next to nothing about macs. i don't have a usb drive big enough for the file.

What version of OS X are you using on Mac ( go to apple menu -> About this Mac to find out). If you are using OS X 10.3. x or 10.4.x, it should not be a problem. Just make sure you have latest updates installed.

If it still gives you problem, then try burning dvd-r .. but I have used dvd+r and dvd-r on my old powerbook G4 and never had problem.

Also, make sure when you burn DVD in windows , you burn it as "ISO 9660" so that mac can read it.

Change of media brand. My PowerBook G4 works pretty good with TDK, Imation and Verbatim.

it's 10.2.8. what standard does nero and most other burning software burn by default? is it not iso 9660?
