The DVDs were split using DVDFab Version 2.5
And I want to keep the menu.

It would be easier just to go back to your original dvd-9 disc. That way the menu will be there and you will be sure that there will be no navigation errors.

The original disc was borrowed by my friend and he never returned it to me because he lost it.

The copyright laws are very clear on the matter. Since (unfortunately) you are not anymore a legitimate holder of the title, your post is violating rule 6, so you will find - most probably - very little further support on the subject in this forum...
That's someway a pity, since your question is technically quite interesting!

SD is right.
Having a copy of a DVD which you no longer own is a copyright violation in many jurisdictions and indeed is a breach of rule 6.
