well topic nearly says it.. i havent found any hint by now how to create xvids with 2 audio streams on linux...
every guide i have seen only speaks of one audio stream. All GUI's (like acidrip or dvd::rip) only provide options for ONE audio stream.
even cli scripts like h264enc only have this option.

is it possible to have two audio streams in an avi xvid encoded file?
I thought that was limited to the container like mkv or ogm

i never said avi.... :)
and yes, it is possible anyway. I would use mkv though.

If you insist on using a GUI, maybe Handbrake would offer that functionality. Their website is currently a bit light on details due to the load caused by the 0.9.0 release, but you can get more information from the Trac page: http://handbrake.m0k.org/trac
There are no binary packages for Linux, so you'll need to compile it yourself.
For much more flexibility, I'd suggest taking some time to learn how to use MEncoder, ffmpeg, audio encoders such as faac, lame and oggenc and the command-line muxing tools (mkvmerge in your case).
Edit: Actually, I'm not sure if the Linux version of Handbrake has a GUI yet. If not, there is a command-line interface that should be quite simple to use.

Sorry for the assumption.
But it is possible but like the previous poster said it requires cli to do it if there is a gui i certainly haven't heard of it.
