I have bought this HD DVD from HQV Silicon Optix a benchmark HD DVD

now correct anything I have wrong please

there is no Copy Protection on the disc (well the standard NTSC/PAL ver has no CSS) but the HD DVD ver probally doesent as well

so I have just used my 360 HD DVD player and my PC then I could just copy and paste the files over from Windows Explorer

I cant play the files because I dont have the correct software

I am sure there isnt ACSS on the HD DVD so if so how do I convert it to WMV HD

Well, that sounds like the first problem that needs fixing...

AnyDVD HD would be helpful if you find that it is protected content.

A demux could give you the format information you need for the ensuing conversion. Obviously if the video steam is a .vc1 it does not need to be converted just remuxed with the converted audio into a wmv.

Building graphs to feed streams through Avisynth into wmcmd.vbs seems to work well. That would involve you having a filter registered that can decode the audio, Haali's Media Splitter, Avisynth, and graphedit.

If you need any pointers on the individual steps you can use search. All of this has been covered pretty well already.

If I was wrong about anything, or didn't elaborate enough to make your further steps clear, I'm pretty sure I'll be corrected quickly here. ;)
