Hi guys
I searched the site for about 3 days, but no luck.

So please be patient and read my post carefully
I hope you would help me to solve my problem.

Let me explain what I wanna do.
I need to use a MKV file in any editing software (like Adobe Premiere or Edius)

Now there are 3 ways to do it :
1 - converting MKV to AVI and then using the AVI file in premiere
2 - finding a plugin that allows premiere to import MKV in project
3 - Frame server. I mean using any software, that works fram server. (like D2V files creates by DVD2AVI)

I don't have any idea how can I do any of them.
But I tried MKV2AVI but there were 2 problems :
a - It can't export 23.976 fps correctly. When I import in that framerate, the video is very bad
b - As the video goes, the audio will be unsync.

Can you help me guys?
(I prefer to find a garunteed way to convert my MKV to AVI
Thanks guys

You can just frameserve it in using the Premiere AVS Import plugin.

1. Install Premiere Avisynth Plugin.

2. Create .avs script

DirectShowSource("filename.mkv")

3. Import the script.

would you please give me url to download premiere avisynth plugin?
and does this plugin install on premiere 6.5? or should I install on premiere CS3?

IMO a cleaner solution is to transcode the MKV to an AVI containing a keyframe codec like HuffYUV or Lagarith. Both these formats edit well in Premiere.
