MXF and aviSynth - Possible?

Has anyone ever tried playing an MXF file in avisynth?

Is there an official avisynth MXF plugin?

there was an OMF import plugin, but i haven't heard of an MXF one.

does anything play it other than Avid? it might be worth uploading a small MXF for the ffmpeg guys to look at - they've got an ftp site for just that purpose (though the link escapes me, it should be pretty easy to google).
