Are there any directshow players which will not use the content.ie5 directory to cache streaming content? HD content which is streamed continues to eat disk space until the player is stopped and does it at a rather fast rate. The files also seem to have a 4GB file size limit even under NTFS and playback will stop when the file/files have reached their maximum size.
I've been using Media Player Classic for my player but have tried others and all designed for Windows seem to have the same issue. VLC and mplayer do not but I need a H.264 codec which can decode PAFF and the only one that I'm aware of at the moment is Coreavc. The patched mplayer versions which had support for coreavc do not seem to be able to do so with PAFF. So, I'm left using Media Player Classic with Coreavc and have just lived with the above problem. Is there another way?
