I still have a hard time knowing how to deinterlace properly, I usually just let meGUI decide for me. However this time the result in the interlaced sections in jerky
This is from one of the interlaced sections and is panning to the left and one of the most notably jerky bits.

and this is what meGUI told me:
edeintted = last.AssumeTFF().SeparateFields().SelectEven().EEDI2(field=-1)
TDeint(order=1,full=false,edeint=edeintted)
"Partially interlaced"
I know the progressive parts (well some of them at least) are film, because it's a behind the scenes show and the camera's are shown (panavision), plus the grain is so heavy it makes me sick, but it's the interlaced sections which are poor.
I get further confused by the fact that AFAIU the MBAFF interlacing is decided by the encoder?
