I've got some material that contains both ordinary interlaced scenes and fieldblended ones. I've been wondering whether using a smart bob such as YADIF is a good choice in these cases, and would like to hear any comments. Or should I simply split the video in the script, smart bobbing those scenes that are interlaced and dumb bobbing (or unblending and speeding up to PAL requirements where possible) those that are fieldblended? Unblending might require a lot of work with soft subtitles, am I correct?
