View Full Version : Merging multiple AVI files

Good morning, all.

Apologies if this should have been posted elsewhere.
I'm trying to get views as to good tools (preferably free!) for merging multiple AVI/DivX files into one big file.
I have something called JFuse, but the one thing I tried with it resulted in an AVI where the audio was about 10 secs out of sync with the video! I appreciate that this may well have been an issue with the AVis themselves, but I thought I'd run it past here to see what people thought before I tried anything else with it.
All advice would be gratefully received! :-)
Pete

VirtualDub (http://virtualdub.org/) or Avidemux (http://www.razorbyte.com.au/avidemux/) ?!?!?!?

I prefer AVI-Mux GUI. All you have to do is drag the files you want to merge into the area at the top, then CONTROL-CLICK them to highlight both. Once that's done you click on the big button named "generate data source from files" and then you can add a Title if you want or just skip that and press the Start button. It'll join the files together for you.

Thanks very much for this recommendation - I'll give it a go.
I also tried to use JFuse with a two parter of another release, and it delivered the same problem - audio out of sync with video. I wonder what its problem is.
I'll let you know how I go on.
