Hi to all.
I'm in PAL land and I have seen in Scenarist the possibility to choose between "Film Mode" and "Camera Mode" for every VTS. I have red around this forum (and other places) that this option could flag the dvd as "progressive scan enabled" (coming from PALplus specs) but I've tested a 25p video with both option on progressive and interlaced tv without any noticeable difference. Then I came around the Ulead DVD Workshop manual and a similar option (Retain Film Mode) that says:
...is only enabled when the active title is in a PAL-compliant format.
Selecting this option indicates that the video is in 24 fps
progressive scan and will be flagged to 25 fps to comply with PAL specifications.
Note that the video's frame rate is not accelerated to 25 fps but only "flagged" as 25 fps.
And this seems to be similar to what DGPulldown do. I would like to know if someone have some information about this "Film Mode" option and what are the practical differences between the 2 modes. Thanks!
