cant see movie.only threw the menu

for some reason if im tryn to watch a dvd in mpc,cmp and smplayer i cant see the film, its a blank screen.but when i open up the menu or pref i can see it threw the lettering in the menus and its playing.any ideas on how i can fix this

okay,i read the other thread up above.so i reinstalled my graphics drivers and that fixed the problem. you can delete this thread.

edit: nope,the movie was playn then i stopt it and restarted it and still a blck screen with sound.when i drag around the window i can see the video under the blk screen.

In MPC, try setting the output renderer to VMR9 renderless, instead, or EVR or even haali's renderer. It sounds like something weird is interfering with the Overlay on your system - a few tools can do this, as well as older games, though I can't remember which ones offhand.
